Wednesday, PLAY DAY!! Aunt Manja finally got to go to the Treehouse Museum! She's wanted to for so long now, but alas, the sign at the counter says "All adults must be accompanied by a child". (But as fate would have it, "children" are ages 1 through 15 and all this time Taylor qualified as a child!! She even had to pay the child's admission for Taylor, which is more than the adult admission price.)

But even as fun as Taylor is, she finally borrowed a niece and a nephew for the day! Daniel and Hannah needed to come to Ogden so they brought Ryan and Kaylee to Ogden on Front Runner and along with Taylor, Lauralee and Emma we all headed off to the Treehouse for a fun afternoon.

What a great place!! The kids had a lot of fun (even Taylor) and we're so lucky to have such a great imaginative place to take children.

Firemen Taylor, Ryan, Kaylee and Emma!!

Kaylee is Little Red Riding Hood.

Even Emma found some fun toys to play with!!
(Hey mom, this is way better than a nap!!)

24th of July Parade

The 24th of July started off early for our family. Bryan had to be at the warehouse holding our Stake float by 5:30 am to move it into position at 32nd and Washington Blvd for judging as he somehow volunteered to pull the float during the parade. At 8 to 10 mph it took about an hour to get it in place and he says he thinks he fell asleep a couple of times during the drive. Good thing he was going slow!

Anne had to be at the float by 7:00 am, dressed and ready for judging as well. Meanwhile, Taylor had to be at the school to meet with the Ogden High Marching Band for practice before the parade.

Manja spent her morning at the end of the parade route, waiting to wave and cheer on her family and OHS!! Our stake float was fun and actually won the people's choice award this year!!

Here are some fun shots from the parade.

The girls under the umbrellas had to turn the
umbrellas during the parade and the kids in the
trolley had levers that made the wheels on the
trolley spin. It really was a fun float.

Ogden High School was well represented in the
parade, including the marching band featuring
Taylor on trumpet!!

When the parade was over and everyone was either home or off to work (Bryan and Anne), Manja had a lovely nap and did nothing slowly. Later on Quinn, Lauralee and Emma joined us for a barbecue and fireworks in the street! Happy Pioneer Day!

OGDEN STAKE YOUNG WOMEN GIRL'S CAMP!!

What a great week at Girl's camp!! We left Monday, July 14th and returned on Friday, July 19th. Our stake consists of 9 wards and we had a total of 115 girls and 30+ leaders at camp this year. Even though we were gone for an entire week, it didn't seem that long. The weather was great, not a drop of rain. The critters didn't bother us much (skunks and racoons) the girls got a long and we had tons of fun!

But I won't lie, I'm glad it's over!! It's a lot of stress and worry and planning, but I have a great stake camp director who does almost all of the stressing, worrying and planning. Our theme this year was Superheroes and we had a lot of fun with it. July has been busy and it's great to be home on a normal schedule (if that's possible during the summer). But no rest for the wicked, we still have a major Young Men/Young Women picnic and multistake dance to plan for August. It never ends. But what a great cause! I have loved working with the Young Women, especially at the stake level because I have met so many marvelous leaders and youth.

FEAR NOT, BELIEVE!!

And finally, a big THANK YOU to
my amazing husband, Mr. Young Woman,
who packed the trailer on Monday
morning and towed it to camp and then
spent Monday night and Tuesday with us at camp.
Then he returned on Friday morning with Taylor
to load the trailer again and pull it home!!
You're the best!!

Ok so here's something interesting for everyone, not somthing boring like marching band (jk Taylor)

Dang, I look good in that picture!
So this is Annie (everyones favorite person). Yep, I changed the Blog background and layout. Isn't it so much cuter this way? I was going to choose the pink one but I knew Taylor would just change it so I did the dots instead.
Well its been awhile since I posted something so here's another update on everyones favorite person.
*I have a new job. I now work as a receptionist for a lawyer from my Ward. It's a good job but I do a lot of boring stuff.
* I have a new favorite band! They are Lady Antebellum. My friend Amy and I got free tickets to their concert in Ogden, we went and had a really good time. They are the CMA (Country Music Asso.) New Band of 2008. Now you may be thinking why would a band that is that big come to little ol' Ogden? Well Ogden is very hip in the music department and booked them a long time ago before they were famous. Anyway so I bought their CD a couple of days later and LOVED it.
*This past Wednesday I was able to go babysit Emma. I was really excited to be with her alone so that I could play with her with out 10 other people bugging her too. But she was sick so not in a very playful mood. She had a runny nose and hated getting it wiped. Every time I just reached for a tissue she would start to cry and I hadn't even touched her yet. But I have the magic touch because Laura was worried I wouldn't be able to put to sleep but I did she went to sleep almost right away for me. Then when Laura and Quinn got home she started to cry hysterically. But even though she was sick and not very happy she was still the cutest baby ever!
*Last night while everyone was at that marching band thing that I didn't go to (see below) I really had things to do. I didn't just say that to get out of it. I had to practice the piano. No Carly really I had to practice the piano. All of the high school grads in my ward were asked to speak but I said I would play the piano instead. So I have to play this Sunday (3 days away) and I only have 1/3 of the piece learned. So tonight I also I have to practice the Piano too.
*I'm also getting ready for my last Girls Camp. It's Monday and I'm really sad to be leaving YW soon. But also so excited! R.S. here I come!
*Sadly Cade Jr. (my car) is now fixed so I actually have to learn how to drive it. I've only burned the clutch a couple times and have started to get the hang of it now. But I'm also learning about the real world: when your car breaks down you have to pay to fix it.
Well now I really have to go practice the piano.
Here's a cute pic of me and Emma at the Beach!

Last Night (Thursday Night) Mom, Dad, and I (Taylor) went to Core Encore at Weber State! Anne was suppose to come but she had too many things to do. As we walked in we gave our extra ticket away and took our seats in the real seats (not bleachers)! Dad got us some free tickets from a co-worker! This was Mom's second time seeing them, but Dad and I have never seen them before. The first core had about the same amount of people in the core as we do in this year's OHS Marching Band, which gave me and some fellow band members I saw there hope. The first core had a great sound for being so small, but unfortunately we won't be able to have to kind of sound because we have stupid woodwinds dragging the brass and drum line down. We were all very impressed, and glad we went. The cores were awesome and we wish them luck at their upcoming performances.

Here are the Cores That Competed

Velvet Knights~Pasadena, California

Spokane Thunder~Spokane, Washington

Santa Clara Vanguard~Santa Clara, California

Blue Devils~Concord, California

Phantom Regiment~Rockford, Illinois
(My Favorite)

Blue Knights~Denver, Colorado

Troopers ~ Casper, Wyoming
