OUR VISIT TO OHIO!

Bryan and Manja spent this past weekend in
Columbus, Ohio visiting Daniel and Hannah.
We had a great time seeing where they live and go to school!

Here are Daniel and Hannah on the
front porch of their darling home.

On our first day in Columbus, we visited the
Ohio State Campus. It really is a beautiful campus
and so much larger than anything here in Utah.
Just the health sciences colleges - medical, dental, nursing,
ophthalmology, pharmacy, etc. - including a major teaching
hospital, research building and clinics comprise an area
larger than the campus of Weber State University.

We loved the feel of the campus - old brick buildings, large
stately trees - and of course dozens of OHS Freshman
on their orientation tours.

There really is nothing like Fall on a college campus -
crisp cool air, the leaves just starting to turn, and
hope in the air as youth and optimism surrounds
you with all the students and excitement of a new semester!

(This all sounds great only if you are someone who doesn't
have to sit through boring lectures, write research papers,
take exams or endure the cold, icy winter walking between classes)

Hannah took us to the School of Dentistry Building
and showed us the lab where she spends
hours and hours and hours perfecting her
skills filling teeth and making crowns, etc.

Then we all try our hands at dentistry, including
using a real drill and the fun air blower thingy.
The work is totally realistic, we drilled away
at a tooth model to see how it feels to be on the
other side of pain!!
As expected, it's lots more fun experiencing
the dentist's office from the dentist's perspective!

The Medical School was really nice Daniel,
but to be honest without a visit to the anatomy lab
included in our little tour, your learning center
was somewhat less exciting. He didn't even
have us play with his stethoscope!
Maybe on our next visit he can have us practice suturing!

Here's Daniel's private cubicle where he
spends every single day studying!!

We walked over to the OHS Buckeye Stadium
and as we were trying to find an open entrance
into the stadium, we kept running into OHS marching band
students headed to the field for practice. We couldn't resist the
opportunity to get some pictures.

THESE ARE FOR YOU TAYLOR!!!

On Sunday, we drove north to Kirtland, Ohio
and toured the Church History sites,
including the Kirtland Temple.
This was a great opportunity and it was
fun to drive through the state and see
the country side - SO GREEN!!,
SO MANY TREES!!

THE GROUNDS WERE BEAUTIFUL.

We toured the beautiful Kirtland Temple.
