MANJA'S LATEST MAKEOVER PROJECT

Okay, my latest project is our bathroom. Obviously it was very dated - the 1990's oak had a long run, but had to go. It's funny how you stop seeing details when you are around them everyday. I think it finally hit me when my sister and her family came for a visit and one of my young nephews asked his mother, "Mom, why do the Van Bibbers have a wooden toilet seat?" Yes, sad to say, but even the throne had an oak seat.

So, with a budget of about $30 I stripped, stained, painted, and sprayed everything oak and hopefully updated it a bit. I still love my light green walls and I'll keep them a bit longer. Eventually the light fixture needs to be replaced, along with the flooring, and as Annie pointed out, "Mom you need another color in here to go with the green and brown!" I'm thinking tomato red or an orange/red color. What do you think?

Here are some before and after photos. And I know the bathroom is small, we've lived with it for 18 years, but it sure gets smaller when you try to take pictures!?!
