24th of July Parade

The 24th of July started off early for our family. Bryan had to be at the warehouse holding our Stake float by 5:30 am to move it into position at 32nd and Washington Blvd for judging as he somehow volunteered to pull the float during the parade. At 8 to 10 mph it took about an hour to get it in place and he says he thinks he fell asleep a couple of times during the drive. Good thing he was going slow!

Anne had to be at the float by 7:00 am, dressed and ready for judging as well. Meanwhile, Taylor had to be at the school to meet with the Ogden High Marching Band for practice before the parade.

Manja spent her morning at the end of the parade route, waiting to wave and cheer on her family and OHS!! Our stake float was fun and actually won the people's choice award this year!!

Here are some fun shots from the parade.

The girls under the umbrellas had to turn the
umbrellas during the parade and the kids in the
trolley had levers that made the wheels on the
trolley spin. It really was a fun float.

Ogden High School was well represented in the
parade, including the marching band featuring
Taylor on trumpet!!

When the parade was over and everyone was either home or off to work (Bryan and Anne), Manja had a lovely nap and did nothing slowly. Later on Quinn, Lauralee and Emma joined us for a barbecue and fireworks in the street! Happy Pioneer Day!

Hey that float looks Great! Sorry we didn't make it to the parade. Taylor, I'm sure the band was amazing. We had a fun time up in Park City with Hannah's family. See you all soon.
