DAY FIVE - TEMPLE VISIT AND SIX FLAGS!

We started Day Five with a session at the San Antonio Temple. Beautiful stained glass windows were everywhere and they were beautiful both from the inside and out. Jeff served his mission in the San Antonio mission and was there when the open house and dedication were held.

After our temple session we headed off to SIX FLAGS. Again, this was a HOT, HUMID DAY!!But it was a riot!! We basically walked right on to every ride. Was everyone at the waterpark?? Mom, Anne, Eric, Liz and Mike loved ALL the rollercoasters. Dad made it on one giant rollercoaster, think Lagoon's white coaster, all wood, 3 times larger and longer, and A LOT MORE RICKETY. After this, Bryan kept to the water rides. And speaking or water rides - THANK YOU!!!! (We don't have a lot of pictures of Six Flags because we were just too busy having fun!)

DAY FOUR - SEA WORLD

We spent our second day in San Antonio at Sea World. If you noticed the national weather maps last week, then you saw a very large HIGH parked right over Texas. HOT, HUMID, HOT HUMID. Every day! But, water rides and sitting near the soak zone can help!! We had a great time!!

SAN ANTONIO!!

DAY THREE!!
Our day in San Antonio was a blast!!
We saw the IMAX movie first and it was a great
start to understanding the history of the Alamo.
We visited the Alamo historical site next.
We were so impressed with how the area has been
preserved and the beautiful green grounds surrounding
the site. We are so appreciative to those who
had the vision to preserve and make the area
so beautiful.
We visited the Riverwalk next, and it was
everything we had heard and more. The landscaping
is amazing and the entire idea so fun!!!
Jeff and Carly joined us about 2:00 in the
afternoon, just in time for ice cream.
Later we took the boat cruise on the river and
had the BEST RIVER GUIDE EVER!!
Then we capped off the night with dinner
at CASA RIO at the river's edge.
Tuesday - SEA WORLD!

SAN ANTONIO OR BUST

DAY ONE!!
6:30 AM - LET'S ROLL1

Manja's ready, she has her MAPS!

First stop, Einstein's Bagels - a family tradition!
Mike's kids, Ryan, Eric, Kaley, Ally!

Our motel in Carrizozo, New Mexco.
It wasn't quite as bad as Mike and Liz thought,
not the Bates Motel. Although we think Mike
slept on the floor in front of the door with his
concealed weapon.

The only time Anne wasn't coughing!

It only took 3 exits before we actually
found the historic route 66 sign!

DAY TWO - Let's just say, 15 hours
in the car. Carrizozo, NM to San Antonio, TX.
Bryan's family stopped at Aunt Betty's for
a great visit. She lives in Alamogordo, NM.
Mike's family stopped in Lincoln, NM and
then did a quick visit to the Carlsbad Caverns.
